Between the years of 1866 and 1868, William Carlos Martyn (1841-1917) was an extremely prolific writer. He published histories of Martin Luther, John Milton, the French Huguenots, the English Puritans and the Dutch Reformation. He also wrote The Pilgrim Fathers of New England: A History (1867).
